🕸🕸 The three Norns 🕸🕸

▪︎They were the ones who wove the destiny of all, not only men but also gods, Giants and Dwarves.
They knew everyone's destiny and no one could escape it.
They took care of the spring or well of Urd in Asgard where the Aesir used to gather.
Every day they drew water and mixed it with the earth to water the Yggdrasil tree. They are the guardians of the World Tree.

The three Norns are named:
- Urd (the Past) the oldest. It is also the name of the well in Asgard.
- Verdandi or Verdande (the Present)
- Skuld (the Future)

They warned the gods of the evil deeds of Loki's offspring.
Their sculptures are the runes...
There is a clear association between the Well of Urd, runes and magic.

It is Urd who warns Odin that he will be killed during Ragnarök by Fenrir.
